Nice Late-'72 show
So anyone who has listened to any of the Fall '72 shows is well aware that this was a realt transition period for the band. The shows were getting much longer, with the addition of all sorts of songs that would eventually form the backbone of '73-'74 sets. "Playin' in the Band" is already becoming the behemoth of the set (this one clocks in at 19+ minutes). But the real highlights of these Sept '72 shows are the colossal "That's It For The Other One" versions, logging in at over half an hour!
As is noted in other reviews, this SBD has a muddy mix, with only the vox and Phil's bass cutting through. The guitars and drums are sitting in a layer below this, and the keys are more or less inaudible. Still, this makes for some nice listening over the course of nearly 205 minutes.
Anyone looking to dip their toes into the waters of Fall '72 would probably be better serverd starting with 9/3/72. But this show is a worthy addition to any collection and well worth your time.

Got to agree . . .
. . .with NYLifer
This show is well worth the listen, just monkey around with the EQ settings till you get it "just exactly perfect" and you'll be OK.
Real nice He's Gone

mildly disagree
I think this show is above average, listen to some of the finer points, bt wind hear keith lay down some nice transition turns. At the end of he's gone, bobby does the truckin tease, mixing with some excelent jerry playin, the song ends before they have a chance to transition into truckin, but it's fairly obvious that is where it is heading, a sign of things to come. Friend of the Devil is also excellent, different from the spectrum or berkeley.
dont miss out

muddy sound
Other than Bobby's vocals & Phil's bass, this is quite a muddy recording.

35+ minute Other One
This is not what I'd consider to be one of the best shows from this period. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just that there were many better shows around this time. However, it's really cool to hear a 35+ minute Other One. Even if it's not a "best version" type performance, it's still quite good.
